The Big Easy Jumping the Shark Comments

Other Thoughts:

USA channel had a made-for-them show called Big Easy. One hour long on Sunday nights, a spin-off of a Dennis Quaid movie which wasn't nearly as good as the tv show, Big Easy seemed to have quite a few viewers and was very well received by the people with whom I spoke. Then - second season - cast changes and it went down like a rock.

Big Easy jumped the shark in the first season's finale, when the main characters did it. Then, in the second season, the female lead was gone!

This show was worth watching for the music alone. Fabulous jazz and blues! It JTS when Susan Walters was replaced by the insipid Leslie Bibb.

When Susan Walters left the writers dropped the ball and all was lost.

This show was a laughable depiction of New Orleans and went through every stereotype in the book. They filmed the show here yet they still couldn't get it right? I've lived in NOLA for 21 years and I never met anyone with a Cajun accent before.

Susan Walters leaving the show. Second season was not as great as the first. I think it went through a time change, also. I had a hard time figuring out when it was on second season.

Yeah, the scripts were thin and the accents were lame but Susan Walters was a real big easy on the eyes. The outstanding soundtrack made the show NOLA. Its why I kept watching through that wretched second season.
