Anthony Crane just finished a run in San Diego playing Jonathan Waxman in the Old Globe Theater's production of 'Sight Unseen', the role he understudied in 2004. The Old Globe website had listed a profile of him, so I have updated his filmography with several theater roles. Kelly McAndrew and Anthony Crane in Sight Unseen. Photo by Craig Schwartz 2008-08-25:
Release date: November 25th! Well who woulda thunk it? Season two of the Big Easy is Laissez le Bon temp rouler too - soon! This is the second season which was rather different in tone - for one thing, Anne Osborne (Susan Walters) had been replaced by Janine Rebbenack (Leslie Bibb). That definitely removed the sexual tension since the relationship between Janine and Remy was more of a teacher and student thing. The show also got grittier and less humorous. In short, it became more similar to every other cop show. And then it was cancelled. I admit the second season doesn't have quite the same spot in my heart as the first season - but that won't stop me from buying it :-) And even though the accents might have grated on the ears of some of the locals, the city you see is still New Orleans. Before Katrina ... Because you know - it's still ... THE BIG EASY! 2008-03-14:
Release date: June 24th! Laissez les bon temps rouler ... let the good times roll! Nothing is simple in The Big Easy, the setting for Season One of this sexy, action-packed crime series. In New Orleans' steamy Latin Quarter, passions run as hot as Tabasco, loyalty has the life expectancy of a Rum Hurricane and the dark waters of the Louisiana bayou tell no tales. Based on the hit 1987 film, THE BIG EASY stars Tony Crane (WISHMASTER) as Remy McSwain, a freewheeling Cajun cop not above committing a crime to solve one, and Susan Walters (SEINFELD's "Mulva")as beautiful but dedicated federal agent Anne Osborne, who will go the distance to uphold the law...even as far as jumping into Remy’s bed. Costarring Barry Corbin (NORTHERN EXPOSURE) and produced by Sonny Grosso, whose career as a New York City cop inspired THE FRENCH CONNECTION, THE BIG EASY ran for two seasons on cable television's USA Network, bringing to discerning viewers a level of violence and eroticism at that time uncommon for prime time TV. 2008-03-12:GREAT NEWS!!!According to TVShowsOnDVD.com USA Network's TV Adaption of the Dennis Quaid/Ellen Barkin Film Heads to DVD - "The Big Easy - Season 1" is coming to DVD this Summer! 2007-04-14:Updated the filmography page with more info about Tony's most recent theater work - including currently starring as Sir Lancelot in the Las Vegas version of Spamalot (thanks to Mary for the heads up.2005-12-03:Updated the filmography page with more info about The Glass Managerie and new entry, the Drama Garage.Added two links - one to a tiny JAG image, the other to a slightly larger one of Tony Crane and Big Easy guest-star John Scott 2005-11-29:Added a link to the Pacific Resident Theatre's Scarecrow page on the links pageUpdated the biography page with Tony's message from Eetle's Dreambook. 2005-11-27:I didn't think I would update this soon except for small improvements and adding pictures, but ....Found the website of Grosso-Jacobson Productions that produced The Big Easy TV series, and on their Production List, they list The Big Easy as having 44 episodes! So I'm wondering if there are unaired episodes - perhaps not fully edited ...... or unfilmed scripts? Because I've only seen the series listed with 34 episodes. I also found out about Tony Crane being in The Brothers Karamazov Part II and added it to the filmography. La MaMa even has a streaming video clip from from the production (bottom of the page) but sadly, you only see J. Anthony Crane from the back. I'm adding it to the links section anyway. Found a few reviews of TBKP 2 - with pictures. Which I'm going to "adopt" and put in the gallery. Yes, I'm bad ;-) If anyone knows where I can contact Christopher Lukas, please let me know. 2005-11-25:My first Tony Crane webpage was made June 2002, and I thought it was time for an update. Not that there's a lot of news about Tony Crane - rather, I've learned a little more about webdesign and collected a few more old pieces of information, so I decided a re-design was needed. |
